Personal Tarot Code of Ethics

This should go without saying. It really should, but it doesn’t, so I’ll put it in writing here in the code of ethics:

✦ I will treat everyone fairly and kindly, offering my help to the best of my abilities and telling people the truth with as much compassion as I know how to express.

✦ I do not adjust readings based on anyone's age, race, color, gender identity, orientation, religion, ideology, spiritual practice, or any other characteristic.

✦ I swear and vow to show empathy to everyone.

✦ To me, the person receiving a reading is someone in need of answers, someone who wants a bit of help, and it is my duty to offer that help.

✦ That’s it. I’m not here to judge or condemn anyone.

✦Personal Treatment ✦

✦ Use of Information ✦

✦ The content of your reading is strictly confidential.

✦ Neither your question nor my answer will ever be disclosed to a third party unless required to do so by the consenting individual or by law.

✦ Your personal data, as supplied for the reading, will be used only to perform the reading.

✦ It will never be sold, transferred, or granted access to…

✦ In fact, it won’t even be stored beyond your reading in question unless you specifically request it.

✦ You may fill out a satisfaction questionnaire where you’re asked to provide private feedback on the reading and on my services.

✦Acceptable Topics✦

✦ For the purposes of this code of ethics, there are two types of third-party readings that I feel are very different:

  • Readings where the third party has some kind of relationship to you, and your request pertains to how this person affects your life. Clear examples include relationship readings ("What is the potential of my relationship with X?", "Why did X break up with me?", "Should I pursue a relationship with my best friend X?"), but this type of third-party reading is also possible involving co-workers ("What is the best way to approach this project with X?"), or even professional contacts ("How can I best present my case to this person/company to be hired?").

  • Readings where the third party is independent from you and where your request pertains to their private life. Again, the clearest example is in the emotional field ("I divorced two years ago, and I want to know if my ex is over me yet"), but it can spill over to other areas ("How is X doing with this account so I can one-up them and get the promotion in their place?").

✦ As a rule, third-party readings falling into the first category are all right. They’re not intrusive; they never look into the third party’s life beyond where it crosses paths with the individual, and the information is not meant to be used against them.

✦ Likewise, third-party readings falling into the second category are against this code of ethics. They can be defined as a form of psychic espionage; they invade the privacy of a person without their knowledge or permission, and the information can sometimes be used to cause harm.

✦Reading for Minors✦

✦ For the purposes of this code of ethics, there are two types of third-party readings that I feel are very different: ✦ I will not read for minors.

✦ This also means I will not read for children with adults present.

  • It becomes a moral and ethical entanglement that I choose the best option: not to read for minors.

    • If they were to get a reading, they should be entitled to their privacy from other sentient beings if they wish.

  • Performing the reading and relaying the information to a third party without expressed prior consent, even if that party is a parent, is a violation of privacy.

    • I see children as assenting sentient beings under adult(s) tutelage, but they have their own full sentient perspective.

    • Reading for a minor with an adult present constitutes a violation of trust and an attack on this right of privacy for those that cannot legally consent.

✦ I’m perfectly willing to read for individuals regardless of how young or old they are, as long as they are of legal age as set by state law to consent.

✦Free Will✦

✦ This is more of a worldview than a point of a code of ethics, but again, I’ll mention that the future isn’t set in stone. It’s based on one's choices.

✦ I am an archetypal reader; my readings are about helping individuals see into their subconscious and providing guidance, rather than about fortune telling.

✦ I offer a guide to what an individual has in their subconscious, and with the reading, I can provide advice to make one choice over another based on my knowledge.

✦ I cannot and will not look into the future or make predictions.

  • Anything is possible and is based on numerous choices made; over time, possible outcomes grow with each decision.

  • The chances that the individual (or someone else) will step “off script” can change any outcome of what could be seen.

✦ My readings are to inform individuals of what will likely happen if they continue on their current path as viewed by their subconscious.

  • It is also to offer insight into why the situation is as it is and to point out ways that one could affect and change an outcome if they so desire.

✦ Ultimately, it’s up to the individual to digest the information presented and choose to act or pass on anything according to their highest will.

✦ Your life, your choices, your future to make the best of.

  • I’m just here to shine a light on what an individual's subconscious can convey, so one can see the road ahead a bit clearer than by their own will.

✦ I can’t predict lottery numbers because lottery balls have no will. That’s just luck; numbers and probability. I have no business looking into that.
